About us

So, you would like to know more about us? Then read on...

We are 11 year twelve students currently being educated at Boundstone Community College - Sixth Form. We are a group of friends who have known each other for many years outside and inside of school which gives us an advantage of working with each other and knowing our strengths, weaknesses and using teamwork. Our business, called EKO, is a company that is run under the ever watchful eye of Young Enterprise. Young Enterprise is a charity that has been running for over 40 years, giving students the opportunity to make their own business and run it just like any other business would in the world. Their motto is "Learning by doing", Young Enterprise gives students the chance to run a business whilst learning from the experience, ultimately learning how a business works. Young Enterprise doesn't just give students the chance to run a business, they give students right down from Primary School up to University the chance to work in groups, play with games, hands on activities and role play activities to educate them later on in life. We first heard about this from our Business Studies teacher at college and felt this was a offer that was too good to refuse.
After many long months of working as a team, breathing and living as a business, we have done many things to control a business and run it like creating a business plan, creating products, advertising and selling our products to customers and projecting our business to other companies and people.
Well, that's a little bit about who we are, how we've got to this point and what we're doing. If you would like to see our business fully finished then come to the Young Enterprise finals night on the 29th of April, where we and many other business alike will be projecting and competing our business against each other to be the best and go all the way to the global finals.
